Brian CbeAPPLETONDied peacefully on 16th June 2020 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne after a long illness aged 88. Beloved husband for 63 years of Shirley, loving father to Mark and Michele and much loved Grandfather to Joe, Phoebe, Millie and Daniel. Brian had a long and distinguished career with ICI, including time as Chairman of Agricultural Division, he was later appointed as Technical Assessor to Lord Cullen's Piper Alpha Inquiry and Chairman of London Transport. In 2002 he was awarded a CBE in recognition of his services to safety management. Small family funeral with flowers or donations to Diabetes UK c/o John Bardgett Funeral Directors 01661 897 694.
